Facelift

Every day the sun, pollution, stress, and the natural effects of aging take a toll on our facial skin and necks. Both men and women can benefit from the results of a facelift. Facelifts rejuvenate skin and alleviate some wrinkles and those deep creases that occur over time. During a facelift we remove fatty tissue, excess skin, and tighten your muscles. After the procedure, you’ll look more youthful and many years younger.

Considerations

Both men and women who want to reduce their wrinkles, harsh creases by the mouth, nose, and eyes, or diminish sagging fat and skin around the chin and jawline are candidates for a facelift. Healthy candidates who do not smoke are the ideal patients for a facelift. It’s important to have realistic expectations and a will to do this procedure for yourself. At BLUE, we want you to become the best, healthiest version of yourself.

Detailed Procedural Info

The facelift procedure is an outpatient procedure which can be completed in roughly two hours. You can either undergo general anesthesia or IV sedation. The facelift procedure involves multiple techniques and processes. Your doctor will review with you the method that’s best for you, so you can achieve the results you’ve been dreaming of. All incisions and scars are hidden in the natural contours of the neck and face.

What to Expect

It’s important to note facelifts do not stop the signs of aging. Over time, these signs of aging will appear again. Brows, eyelids, and noses are also not rejuvenated during a facelift. We have other procedures that can help with these areas.

Before your facelift procedure, you will meet with our expert team of advocates to go over your goals, concerns, and desired outcomes from your facelift. Then you will meet your doctor, who will review your consultation and discuss realistic outcome with you.

You can expect to have your incision sites wrapped in bandages and possibly have drainage tubes after surgery. These tubes will be removed the following day. It’s important to be careful when washing your hair after a facelift. Swelling, bruising, and numbness is to be expected after this procedure. Your face and neck will probably feel tight and might even look a little uneven to you. Any stitches or surgical clips will be removed one week after the procedure. Most of these symptoms will go away after three to six weeks. Within a few months you should have the normal sensations return to your facial muscles.
